Description
East Langton Farmhouse is a substantial farmhouse, dating to the early 19th century with a rear wing likely built in the mid-18th century. The front elevation is constructed from dressed sandstone, limewashed, and features raised quoins. It has a moderately pitched roof covered in asbestos tiles, while the rear wing has Welsh slate roofs. There are three rendered brick stacks. The two-storey, four-bay entrance front has a Tuscan doorcase containing a six-panel door in the third bay from the left, and four-pane sash windows with raised sills and flush lintels. A two-storey, single-bay gabled wing to the rear features alternate quoins, a 12-pane horizontal-sliding sash window, and flat-coped gables with shaped kneelers. The slightly-swept roof at the front has coped gable parapets with shaped kneelers, projecting eaves, and a gutter supported on a row of small, square brackets. The house has two gable stacks and one ridge stack. A single-storey, single-bay addition to the right and a detached cart shed to the rear are not considered of particular architectural interest.
