Description
Walker Hall is a substantial farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with later alterations. The front is made of sandstone ashlar, while the returns are constructed from coursed rubble and the rear features dressed sandstone. It has a graduated green slate roof and stone stacks. The building is three stories high with a three-bay front that includes raised and chamfered quoins. The central entrance features a part-glazed six-panel door with an architrave and a segmental pediment supported by fluted brackets. The windows are framed with architraves and have raised sills; the ground and first floors contain twelve-pane sash windows, while the second floor has six-pane sashes. The rear of the building mainly features 20th-century windows, with the first and second floors having central staircase windows that are twelve-pane sashes with a radial head, raised surround, keystone, and impost blocks. The roof has a moderate pitch, flat-coped gables with shaped kneelers, and corniced end chimneys.
In front of the house, there is a low garden wall with segmental coping and two gate piers that have shaped tops. There is a detached cart shed at the rear and farm buildings to the left, but these are not of special interest.
