Description
Hillside Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some minor alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressing and quoins. The roof is covered in plain tiles and features stone coped gables on moulded kneelers, with a brick gable end stack on the right and a brick ridge stack. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, although the left bay was rebuilt in the 20th century. The entrance is an off-centre half-glazed door set in a plain stone surround, flanked by two-light flush mullion windows, with two similar windows located above. The left bay contains a 20th-century two-light flush mullion window and a 20th-century door, with a 20th-century casement window above it. All other windows feature 20th-century leaded lights.
