Description
Windmill House is a house dating from the late 18th century, which was restored and extended around 1970. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings and quoins, topped with a plain tile roof featuring rebuilt brick gable stacks and a coved eaves band. The house has two storeys and three bays, along with a 20th-century lower bay to the west.
There are two off-centre quoined doorcases; the western one has a board door, while the eastern one features a glazed 20th-century door. On either side of the doors, there are two-light flush mullion windows with new mullions and glazing bar casements. Above these, there are two similar windows, also with new mullions and casements, and a central single-light staircase window set at a lower level. The 20th-century addition includes a three-light flush mullion window on the ground floor. Inside, the house features chamfered ceiling beams and a spiral timber staircase.
