Description

No 4 Gun Lane is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations and additions made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone, featuring ashlar dressings and quoins. The roof is made of plain tiles and has brick gable stacks. The building has two storeys and consists of two main bays, with a later single bay added to the south and a lean-to on the north side.

The entrance is slightly off-centre and features a flush doorcase with a 20th-century studded wooden door, which is flanked by two-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows. Above the door, there is a central fire insurance plaque, also flanked by two-light windows that have flush surrounds and chamfered mullions. The later bay to the south includes one 20th-century window on the first floor.
