Description
No. 17 Boothgate is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century and early 19th century, with some minor later alterations. The structure features coursed rubble and coursed squared sandstone with painted stone dressings, topped by a plain tile roof that has brick gable stacks and one ridge stack. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The central bay, made of coursed squared stone, has a quoined doorcase with a glazed door on the left and a 2-light casement window in a stone surround on the right. The flanking bays are constructed of coursed rubble; the right bay has flush quoins and a smaller 2-light casement window. The left bay features a similar window and an inserted 20th-century door. The upper storey has similar windows arranged in the same way, all of which originally had central mullions.
