Description

Chapel Bridge over Black Beck is a bridge dating from the 14th century. It features squared stone on the south side and rubble on the north, with cut dressings. The bridge has a pointed arch that is double-chamfered on the south side and includes two chamfered ribs. The parapet, which is damaged on the south side, is supported by variously-moulded corbels, and the bridge has splayed wing walls. This structure is an unusual and well-preserved example of a small medieval bridge of good quality.
