Description
Mill Cottage and the adjoining house at Jamieson's Mill are two houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from sandstone rubble with some quoins and feature a stone-flagged roof. The buildings are two storeys high and have four windows, along with a left pent extension that is one storey tall and has one window. Each pair of windows has boarded doors beneath thin wood lintels, with the door on the right having a 2-light casement to its right. Most of the other windows are horizontal sliding sashes, consisting of 6 and 3 panes, all set under thin wood lintels. To the left of the doors, there are 16-pane and 12-pane sashes, with the 12-pane window featuring a flat stone lintel and a projecting stone sill. The buildings have small end chimneys and a thin flat central stack. The words "MILL COTTAGE" are painted on the lintel of the left door.
