Description
The School House, originally the headmaster's house, is now a private residence built around 1863 by S.S. Teulon for Rev. Daniel Capper. It features snecked sandstone in various colours with ashlar dressings, a plinth, and quoins. The roof is made of dark blue slates with some green slates. The building is L-shaped with a stair turret at the inner return angle and a low pent extension on the right. It has two storeys and three bays. The wide left bay beneath the front gable includes a later wooden porch on the right. The windows are two-light casements set in chamfered alternate-block surrounds, with the upper windows located under relieving arches. The round stair turret has 6-pane windows beneath a high conical roof, and a similar window is found in the right pent extension. The steeply-pitched roof is topped with a tall rear chimney, and there is a canted hipped bay window on the right return gable beneath a small two-light casement.
