Description

Moor View is a house built around 1863 by S.S. Teulon for Rev. Daniel Capper. It is constructed of coursed, squared sandstone rubble with ashlar and yellow brick dressings, topped with a roof of blue-grey slates.

The building is a single-storey, two-bay range. The left bay features a lower projecting wing beneath a front gable, which is connected by a lower two-bay section to a two-storey, one-bay gabled projection on the right. This right projection includes a gabled porch with a renewed partly-glazed door set under a flat stone lintel, flanked by narrow windows with glazing bars. Above, there is a wide two-light casement and a small lancet window in the gable peak. The left end gabled wing has two lancet windows and one small lancet in the gable peak. A pent roof over the link has two small windows, and there is a gabled dormer above. The steeply-pitched roof is fitted with two ridge chimneys. Additionally, there is a small pent right set-back extension that contains one window.
