Description
Ramshaw House and attached outbuildings is a former mine manager's house, cottage, and stable, now divided into two houses, dating from around 1840. The building is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings and quoins, with some sections made of millstone grit. It features a Welsh slate roof, and the main chimneys are finished in incised stucco.
The house, which is two storeys high and has three bays, is located on the right. It has a six-panel door with a patterned overlight set in a panelled stone surround beneath a cornice. The windows are 16-pane sashes with fine glazing bars, flat stone lintels, and projecting stone sills, and the house displays chamfered quoins. The roof is hipped on the right side and has wide eaves, bargeboards, and two ridge chimneys.
To the left are the cottage and stable, which are two lower storeys and consist of six bays in total. The stable has a central boarded door beneath a flat stone lintel, with a blocked door in the right bay and pigeon holes above with stone shelves. The left side features millstone grit quoins. The house has a renewed central door and 20th-century windows in the outer bays, along with a central banded ridge chimney.
