Description
The stone rubble outbuildings to the west of Shaw House are 19th-century stables and a loft, which have been converted into a small factory. The structure is built from rubble stone with flush quoins and stone dressings. It features a steeply pitched plain tile roof with a brick dentilled eaves band. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays.
On the ground floor, there is a central plank door beneath a plain lintel, flanked by fixed small pane windows that have louvred vents at the base, all under similar lintels. To the east, there is another doorcase leading into an alley through the building. Above the door, there is a central three-light horizontal sliding glazing bar sash, with two similar two-light sashes on either side.
The interior retains six original stables, and the loft features a king post truss with side struts. The outbuildings are included in the listing for their group value.
