Description
Mill Cottage is a former watermill that has been converted into a house, likely built in the 18th century and extended in the 20th century. The structure is made of limestone rubble with squared quoins and timber lintels, topped with an old plain-tile roof featuring brick ridge stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high. The front facade is irregular with five windows and includes doors located to the left of center and at the far right. The windows feature a mix of 18th-century small-pane and leaded casements. The roof has a half-hipped design on the right side and a stall gable over one of the first-floor windows. To the left, there is a rubble and tiled 20th-century extension. The rear of the building includes a gabled lateral stack and additional lower 20th-century extensions. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is noted to contain a water wheel at the left end of the range. Beneath the mill, there is a channel with walls made of large squared blocks that extend to form embankment walls at the back of the house.
