Description
Crown Cottage is a small house dating from the early 18th century, with extensions added in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble and features timber lintels. The roof is covered with old plain tiles and has brick gable stacks. The house has a two-unit plan that extends at the rear and consists of one storey plus an attic.
The front of the cottage has two windows, with a door located to the right of centre. To the left of the door is a three-light casement window, and to the right is a single light window. There are also two gabled three-light dormers, one of which is a 20th-century addition. All the joinery in the cottage is from the 20th century. The gable wall to the left, which faces the road, has a stack. There is a short rear wing to the left and an infill range that includes further casements and dormers. The interior has not been inspected.
