Description
Wheatley Bridge Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse constructed from limestone ashlar and rubble, topped with a Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. It features a central-stair plan with a rear outshut and stands two storeys high, plus attics. The symmetrical front has three windows made of ashlar, a storey band, and recessed panels above the first-floor windows. At ground level, there are tripartite sashes flanking a six-panel door, while the first floor has a twelve-pane sash. The roof is shallow-pitched and half-hipped. The end walls have two-light leaded casements on the second floor and blind windows below, all adorned with stone flat arches. The full-width rear outshut, which is of slightly later date, contains casements with two and three leaded lights. Inside, there is a large stone fireplace in the kitchen and a plain stair with stick balusters.
