Description
No. 13 Front Street is a house and shop dating from the early 18th century, with 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a renewed pantiled roof with stone gable copings, as well as ashlar, brick, and rendered chimneys. The building has two storeys and three windows. It has renewed four-panel doors on either side of a central late 19th-century sash window, which is set under flat stone lintels. There are also similar renewed sashes in corniced canted bay windows on the outer sides, along with three- and two-light 20th-century first-floor windows that have renewed sills and lintels. The eaves have been raised.
The roof is finished with end gable copings on moulded kneelers and has corniced end chimneys, with the right chimney standing on a wide plinth and both chimneys raised in brick. This building is included for its group value.
