Description

No. 14, Office Square is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble with irregular quoins, and features ashlar and brick dressings. The roof is covered in concrete tiles, with stone gable copings and rendered chimneys. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The central doorway has been renewed, with a flat brick arch above. A mid-20th century window is located in a wide opening on the left-hand side, and a small sash window is on the right, both beneath renewed lintels. Projecting stone sills are present on these windows, and on the three plain sash windows on the first floor, also with flat brick arches. The steeply-pitched roof has moulded kneelers and end chimneys, with one located on an external stack to the right. A four-light window to the roof space is visible on the right-hand return, positioned in front of the chimney stack. The building is included on the list for its group value.
