Description
No. 16 East Green is a house dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features replaced pantiles and brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays, consisting of two sections that are joined by a straight vertical joint to the left of the door. The right side has thin quoins. The central door has been replaced, and there are 19th-century openings with replaced four-pane sash windows that have projecting sills and flat-arched lintels. The eaves are raised, and the roof is steeply pitched with slightly swept eaves, coped gables, and shaped kneelers. The ridge stack has been rebuilt, while the right end stack is made of hand-made brick. There is a later lean-to addition on the right return, which is not considered of special interest. The building is included for its group value.
