Description

No. 45 High Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble sandstone, featuring quoined upper courses on the right side, and has a pantile roof with a rebuilt brick chimney stack. The building is two stories high and has a two-window front. To the left, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door, with a fixed-light fire window in the center. The other windows are two-light, 12-pane horizontal-sliding sashes, each with painted stone sills. The door and sliding sash windows have a painted heavy lintel, while the first-floor windows are supported by thin timber lintels. There is a chimney stack at the right end. This building is included for its group value.
