Description
No. 5 Front Street is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It features colourwashed rough render with painted ashlar dressings, a renewed pantiled roof, and brick chimneys on a rendered stack. The building has two low storeys, with two bays on the ground floor and three above, where the right bay projects over part of No. 7. There is a half-glazed door set in a tooled stone surround in the second bay, and the windows are late 19th-century sashes, with the ground floor window being larger and having projecting stone sills. The third window, which was originally part of a separate house, is located in a higher section of the building. The steeply-pitched roof features a left end battered chimney stack that is combined with that of No. 3, and there is a higher gable to the left of the third window.
