Description

The Lindens is a house dating to circa 1700, with alterations made in the late 19th century. The exterior is painted render with painted ashlar chamfered quoins and dressings, topped by a pantiled roof and old brick chimneys. The house is three storeys high, with three bays. The right side of the central bay features a plain stone surround to a six-panel door and overlight. Similar stone surrounds frame the late 19th-century sash windows on the first floor, and square, pivoted windows on the lower level of the second floor. Canted bay windows flank the entrance door; the left bay has two rows of three panes, while the right bay has two rows of two panes, all with slender corner pilasters and cornices. The steeply pitched roof has swept eaves, a large chimney at the left end, and a smaller, square chimney at the right end.
