Description
Nos. 20 and 22 Monnow Street are four-storey houses with roughcast render, likely over brick, and a tiled roof. They are designed as single bay houses with a double depth plan and an entry to the right. Each house has one window, and they share a central bay. The ground floor features two shopfronts beneath a shared fascia, with canted display windows and entrances located to the right. On the first floor, there are canted oriels on either side, each with a 2 over 2 pane sash window flanked by 1 over 1 sashes, and a plain 2 over 2 pane sash window in the centre. The upper floors consist of 2 over 2 pane sashes on either side of a blind recess, with smaller windows on the top floor. The roof is plain and has a tall rendered stack positioned to the left against the gable of No. 18. The rear elevation has not been seen. The interior was not observed during the resurvey.
