Description
The former Gloucestershire Arms Public House, which is now closed, is a 17th-century building with a painted brick front and a roof that is not visible from the street. It has a double depth plan and is situated gable end to the street on a narrow burgage plot. The building stands three storeys high and features two windows. On the ground floor, there is a large small-paned window with a mullion-and-transom design and a six-panel door to the right, although the fascia has been damaged. The upper floors contain six over six pane sash windows with stone cills. A cornice band and a parapet are present, with the top of a brick stack visible. The rear elevation has not been seen.
The interior was not accessible during the resurvey due to the closure of the public house, but it is reported to be partially timber framed and to have chamfered cross beams.
