Description

Nos. 19 and 21 Monk Street Roughcast and painted elevations with Welsh slate roofs and red brick chimneys. This building has the appearance of being one double-fronted house with a rear wing but is in fact two. No. 19 has the street door and the window to the right, while No. 21 has the window to the left and the rear wing. Two storeys, three windows to street. Central panelled door with pedimented hood on brackets. This is flanked by tripartite sashes, 6 over 6 panes with 2 over 2 flanking. Six over 6 pane sashes to the upper floor. Moderately pitched roof with gable stacks. The left return has the door for No. 21, panelled, with overlight and pedimented hood on brackets as before, small 4 over 4 pane sash on the upper floor. Rear wing has two windows with 6 over 6 sashes and another brick stack. Rear elevation not seen.

Only the ground floor was seen at resurvey. Plain early C19 interior with stick baluster stair.
