Description
This listing describes a group of four attached houses known as Nos. 32-38 Pen-y-dre, built in the Rhiwbina Type 2 style. The houses are two storeys high and feature roughcast render with a band at the first-floor sill level. They have hipped slate roofs and brick chimneys. The design is symmetrical, with an eight-window front, originally consisting of 16-pane sash windows.
In the center, there is an advanced two-window bay topped with a hipped roof and a central round-arched passageway. On either side of this central bay, there are two-window bays with doorways positioned close to the inner angles of the central block. At each end, there are advanced bays with hipped roofs and a single window on each floor. The ends of the houses feature round-arched doorways and two windows on the upper floor.
The original doors remain in Nos. 34 and 36, while the windows in No. 32 have all been replaced, and the ground floor front windows of No. 36 have also been replaced.
