Description
Nos. 12 and 14 Lon-y-dail are a pair of semi-detached houses built in the 20th century. They are roughcast rendered and feature a roof made of small slates with slightly swept eaves, a central ridge, and lateral and rear stacks. The houses have a symmetrical H-shaped plan, with a frontage that includes two large outer projecting gabled wings, which are linked by a central section that has a deep slated hood extending out to the same level as the wings.
The windows are quite large and consist of small-pane casements, with three-light windows in the cross gables on the first floor and four-light windows below. There are smaller side lights on the returns at each level, and the central section features smaller four-light windows positioned close under the eaves. The ground floor has paired French windows beneath the deep hood, which is supported by a tapering pillar. There are tripartite side windows and entrances, each with a hood over boarded part-glazed doors. The corners of the houses display stepped recessed moulding that resembles alternating quoins.
No. 14 includes a glazed side porch.
