Description
Nos. 16 and 18 Lon-y-dail are a pair of semi-detached houses built in a roughcast render. They feature a roof made of small slates with slightly swept eaves, a central ridge, and lateral and rear stacks. The houses have a symmetrical H-shaped plan, with two large outer projecting gabled wings that have kneelers, linked by a central section that has a deep slated hood extending out to the same level as the wings.
The windows are quite large and consist of small-pane casements, with three lights in the cross gables on the first floor and four lights below. There are smaller side lights on the returns at each level. The central section has smaller four-light windows positioned close under the eaves. The ground floor features paired French windows beneath the deep hood, which is supported by a tapering pillar. The side windows and entrances are tripartite, with a hood over boarded part-glazed doors. The corners of the houses have stepped recessed moulding that resembles alternating quoins.
It is noted that No. 16 has replaced windows.
