Description
Nos. 65-71 Pen-y-dre is a group of four attached houses, known as Rhiwbina Type 2, built in the 20th century. The houses are two storeys high and feature roughcast render with a band at the first floor sill level. They have hipped slate roofs and brick stacks. The design is symmetrical, with an eight-window front that mainly consists of original 16-pane sash windows.
In the center, there is an advanced two-window bay topped with a hipped roof, which includes a central round-arched passageway. On either side of this central block, there are two-window bays with doorways located close to the inner angles, each with porches. At both ends, there are advanced bays with hipped roofs and a single window on each floor. The returns feature a round-arched doorway and two windows on the upper floor.
No. 65 has a modern window on the first floor to the left. The windows of No. 69 have all been replaced. No. 71 has decorative shutters and some replacement glazing on the side.
