Description
Nos. 49 and 51 Pen-y-dre are a pair of semi-detached houses built in a style known as Rhiwbina Type 12. The houses date from the early 20th century, and are two storeys high. They are faced with roughcast render, which has been replaced. The roofs are slate, hipped, and feature a central brick chimney. The central bay of the pair is advanced and has a hipped roof. Number 49 retains its original 16-pane sash windows, while Number 51 has replacement glazing. Each outer bay has a small square window set low in the eaves; this has been replaced at Number 51. A doorway is sheltered by a flat hood; the original front door remains at Number 49, but Number 51 now has a later porch. The side elevations each have a small square window at eaves level and a round-arched porch.
