Description
The William Hopkin Thomas memorial lamp and fountain is a Grade II listed structure made of pink polished granite and grey granite. It features a die raised on two stepped plinths, with water basins on two sides as well as the front and back. The inscriptions on these sides commemorate William Hopkin Thomas, a doctor, local benefactor, and chair of the local eisteddfodau, with one side in English and the other in Welsh. The die is adorned with delicate etched decoration and has a gabled shape. At the top, it supports a cylindrical domed structure that holds a heavy cast iron cross, which originally carried three fine lamps.
