Description

This drinking fountain, dated 1912, is located in St Thomas's Square. It is made of pink and grey polished granite. The fountain features a circular pedestal with a moulded base and cornice that supports a column with taps, which are screened by grey granite columns with capitals. At the top, there is a moulded circular cup with a ball finial. The pedestal is inscribed with the words, "Presented to the Hackney Borough Council by Morris Nelson Esq in memory of his wife Esther. Unveiled by Councillor William Hammer Mayor of Hackney 31st October 1912."
