Description
The New Lansdowne Club is an early 18th-century building that has undergone alterations. It stands three storeys high with a basement and features five windows. The front has a parapet and bands on the first and second floors. The ground floor is made entirely of original brown brick with bright red dressings. Although the brickwork on the first and second floors has largely been rebuilt, it uses old bricks and maintains the correct style. The sash windows have cambered arches and are fitted with glazing bars within exposed wood architraves. The entrance features a six-panel door with a cornice head and a plain fanlight, set in a narrow moulded architrave. It has a Doric doorcase with engaged columns, a triglyph frieze, and an open pediment with mutules, accessed by four steps. The house has two spans, and the side and rear brickwork is better preserved than the front.
