Description
The Edwards monument, located in the graveyard of Paran Chapel, is a Grade II listed structure made of pink and grey granite. This obelisk is positioned at the foot of a grave enclosure that is surrounded by boldly modelled cast iron railings. The monument features a tapered die set on a stepped base, topped with a moulded cap in the shape of a sarcophagus, which includes acroteria. Above this is a short chanelled pyramid that supports a small square granite urn, which is etched on each face. The monument has gilded lettering commemorating Sarah, the wife of Colwyn Edwards of Black Mill, who died in 1909, with Colwyn Edwards' name added at his death in 1935.
