Description
The Edwards memorial is a pedestal tomb located approximately one metre to the north-east of the chancel of the Church of Saint Andrew, dated 1820. It is made of grey sandstone ashlar and has a square plan. The tomb features a moulded plinth, recessed panels, and a moulded cornice. The top has a concave shape with a large central urn that includes scalloped lower parts, a fluted band, and a top section adorned with carved husk garlands, an oval patera to the west, a shield to the east, and a moulded cornice leading to a domed top. At the time of the survey in January 1987, the finial was missing. The north side of the tomb is inscribed to Robert Edwards, who died on 3 February 1820, as well as to other members of the Edwards family.
