Description

The Edwards monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 11 metres south-west of the west porch of the Church of St Mary Magdalene. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of sandstone. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge and a moulded base, as well as engaged quarter columns at each corner. Inscriptions are present on all sides, and there are paired shaped panels on the north and south sides. The monument commemorates Sarah Edwards, who died in 1832, along with other family members.
