Description
The Telecom Building is a three-storey structure with an attic, featuring a four-window banded ashlar front and a slate roof behind a parapet, which has a gabled center. At the top, there is a griffin finial and three grouped cusped lights, with a stringcourse that has headstops beneath it, although the panel is defaced. The building showcases a moulded cornice and polygonal buttresses, along with a fine Gothic traceried frieze above the first floor and a plain frieze over the ground floor. The first and second floor windows are vertically linked within segmental arched recesses, which were formerly fitted with vertical mullions, though the glazing has been modernized. The ground floor features arched openings with blocked architraves and rich stiff-leaf spandrel foliage; the modern glazing retains scrolled pediments to the fanlights, with panelled pilasters and a six-panel door on the left.
