Description
This building, which includes the entry to Salubrious Passage, is constructed of red brick with freestone dressings, some of which are painted. It features a wide bracket cornice and a blocking course, although the blocking course has been removed to No 55. The roof is made of pantiles and there is a brick stack. The building has full height pilasters and three windows that have voussoir lintels. The windows are tripartite sash windows with small-pane glazing, although these have been removed to No 55. The ground floor has a modern frontage, but there is an older shop front with a splayed entrance leading to the passage. Inside, there is a row of cast-iron columns that support modern arches, which extend back into Salubrious Passage.
