Description
This building, which includes the entry to Salubrious Passage, is constructed of red brick with freestone dressings, some of which are painted. It features a wide bracket cornice and a blocking course, although the blocking course has been removed from No 55. The building has a pantile roof and a brick stack, along with full height pilasters. There are three windows with voussoir lintels and tripartite sash windows that have small-pane glazing, although these have been removed from No 55. The ground floor has a modern frontage, while the older shop front includes a splayed entrance to the passage. Inside, there is a row of cast-iron columns supporting modern arches that extend back into Salubrious Passage.
