Description
This building is a semi-detached commercial property located at 2 Castle Square, constructed with painted roughcast and stucco and topped with a slate roof featuring a plain 20th-century eaves board. It stands three storeys tall and has a three-window range, without any chimneys. The upper floors have modern plate glass sash windows set in plain raised stuccoed eared surrounds. The ground floor features a modern shop front of poor design, with a former house door on the left now converted into a shop window.
The interior has been altered on the ground floor. A staircase runs parallel to the front wall, consisting of three flights with two long landings. It features a bulbous turned newel at the floor, a continuous rail, and square balusters. The attic contains three heavy collar trusses, which may date back to the early 18th century.
