Description
This building, located at 7 High Street, is a house that has been converted into commercial premises. It features painted stucco and a slate mansard roof behind a parapet. The structure is three storeys tall with an attic and has a single-window range. There is one flat dormer and a canted oriel window that includes 8-12-8-paned horned sash windows on both the first and second floors, each adorned with moulded cornices.
The ground floor has a mid-20th century W H Smith & Son shop front, which is recessed and includes a row of top lights above late 20th century glazing and doors. A fascia with a blind box is positioned between small brackets.
Inside, the ceiling retains typical plasterwork from the inter-war period, featuring vernacular 17th century style motifs applied to the beams and panels. However, the interior has been damaged by light fittings and alterations.
