Description

5 High Street is a terraced house that has been converted into a shop and flats. The building features a painted stucco street elevation that rises four storeys high, topped with a plain parapet. It has a slate gabled roof and a red brick chimney located on the right side. The structure consists of two bays, with two 4-pane horned sash windows on the upper floor. The main floors boast large two-storey canted oriel windows, which are fitted with 2-4-2-pane sashes and have moulded cornices.

The ground floor has been altered to include a late 19th-century shop front, characterized by three pilasters with console brackets. Two of these pilasters frame the former house door on the left, while the third is positioned to the right of the shop window. The brackets are adorned with lion's masks. A dentil thin cornice runs along the top, interrupted by the bases of the oriels. The door on the left has been replaced with a plate glass fixed window. The shop features a plate glass window supported by thin timber corner posts, along with a recessed door that includes an overlight.
