Description
3 Castle Square is a three-storey commercial building, featuring a painted roughcast and stucco exterior with a deep-eaved slate roof that is hipped at the southeast angle. The eaves are adorned with ornate modillion brackets on both the south front facing Castle Square and the east side facing Bridge Street. The front has three windows, with plate glass sash windows set in plain raised stucco eared surrounds, similar to those on No 2. The first-floor windows in the center and to the right are slightly wider than the others. The ground floor has a modern shop front. The east front consists of three bays, with narrow plate glass sashes on the top floor, two on the first floor (in the center and to the right), and a 20th-century shop window on the ground floor. A hipped dormer is also present. The interior has been altered, featuring pine roof trusses from the 19th century.
