Description
Friars Vaults Inn is an end-terrace building dating from the 18th century. It features painted stucco and a slate roof that overhangs at the eaves, with no chimneys present. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with renewed windows. On the first floor, there are three horned 12-pane sash windows. The ground floor includes a fixed 12-pane window on each side of a late Georgian bowed shop window with 20 panes; while the glazing bars have been renewed, the curved fascia and cornice remain original. To the extreme right, there is a tall doorway with a 20th-century door and overlight. The gable end to the right is windowless and there are two two-storey rear additions, with the second addition being taller than the first. The ground floor has been altered.
