Description

4 Victoria Place is a three-storey, two-bay terraced house, now used as commercial premises. It dates from the 18th century and is built of painted stucco, with a slate roof and paired brackets supporting overhanging eaves. A sill band runs along the second floor, and a moulded cornice is at first floor level. The windows are hornless sashes; the upper floor has nine panes to each window, while the first floor windows have twelve panes. A square-headed doorway with a late 20th-century shopfront is on the left side of the ground floor, leading to a four-panel door with a traceried overlight. The group value of the building is that it contributes to the character of a cohesive terrace.

In 1974, the interior included an elegant contemporary staircase rising around a narrow elliptical well, and an elliptical arch at the end of the hall passage. The interior has not been inspected since then.
