Description
9 Victoria Place is a terraced house that has been converted into commercial premises. It features painted stucco and a slate mansard roof behind a parapet, with a red brick stack on the left end. The building stands three storeys tall and has a two-bay front. Giant pilasters frame the narrow right bay, with the left pilaster being part of the adjacent property at No 7-9. There is also a pilaster to the left, which is part of a pair framing the entrance to No 11. The pilasters have simple stepped caps and plinths.
Above, there is an entablature with a deep frieze and a simple cornice that is broken forward over the left pier and the narrow right bay. The frieze of the right bay features '1839', and 'Victoria Place' is inscribed in a curved-headed block on the parapet. The windows are sash style with narrow marginal panes, with the two entrance bays having narrower windows and the first-floor windows being longer than those above. The main bay on the ground floor has a 20th-century bowed shop window that resembles the one next door at No 11. To the right, there is an arched doorway with marginal glazing and a radiating bar fanlight, along with the original heavy two-panel door. The ground floor has been altered.
