Description
Blaenmorw is a mid-19th century farmhouse constructed of whitewashed rubble stone with whitewashed brick dressings, topped with a slate roof and featuring brick end stacks. The building has an unusually formal design, consisting of a two-storey central section with three windows and lower two-storey wings on either side. The brick dressings include nogged eaves on the main block, cambered window and door heads, and raised flanking piers that extend above the window heads to the eaves, along with a continuous raised string course over the ground floor that projects forward over each pier. The windows have painted slate sills, with cambered-headed hornless 12-pane sashes on the ground floor and 9-pane cambered-headed sashes above. The wings are nearly symmetrical, featuring slightly shorter inner windows and outer doors on the ground floor. The eastern wing also has a 9-pane sash under the eaves on the first floor and a brick stack at the eastern end. There is a 20th-century door present. The western wing has a ground floor window that is partially blocked and an external staircase leading to a loft door.
