Description
The gatepiers, steps, and walls to the north court at Ffynone were constructed between 1902 and 1907 using rubble stone. The forecourt walls feature moulded coping made from Cilgerran stone. There are two sets of large, heavily rusticated gatepiers located to the southwest and northeast, each topped with cornices, pedestals, and large ashlar ball finials. The rubble walls extend to the southeast towards the house and to the northwest terrace, both topped with moulded grey slate coping. The northwest terrace includes turned slate balustrading and features three ashlar flat urns on piers flanking a concave-curved broad flight of steps, which has slate treads inset with cobbles.
