Description
The Game-Larder located to the north of the service ranges at Ffynone is a 19th-century structure. It features a timber frame and a deeply overhanging slate roof made of lozenge-cut slates, topped with a timber ball finial. The building is octagonal in shape, resting on a base of Cilgerran stone and accessed by three slate steps. The sides are supported by chamfered timber posts and rails, with the rails above hollow brick panels. There are large four-pane openings on the upper part, which originally had pierced zinc screens. The south side has a door with sidelights. Inside, the larder has marble shelves on five sides, a tiled floor, and a flat ceiling.
