Description

The Gazebo at the Garden House is an early 19th century octagonal summerhouse constructed from coursed rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and features pointed arched openings with cut Cilgerran stone voussoirs and a raised band between the floors. The upper floor has windows on all sides except the east, which has a pointed door, and the west, which is blank. The large pointed sash windows are renewed and four panes wide, adorned with intersecting glazing-bar heads. The sills are made of concrete, and there are sunk panels below the windows. The door is panelled with intersecting panels at the head. To the left of the door, there are two slate brackets that once supported a bell. Access to the door is via outside steps from the northeast. On the north side, there is a shallow arched bridge connecting to a north-running garden wall. Attached to the west, against the garden wall, is a low 20th century house addition. The ground floor features a 20th century pointed double door on the north side beneath the bridge, with a house to the west, steps to the east, and a blank pointed arch to the south. There are pointed windows on the southeast and southwest sides, both with similar tracery, although the southeast window was originally a door.
