Description
The entrance gates and piers to Ffynone, built in the early 20th century, feature a pair of heavily rusticated gatepiers made from Cilgerran stone. These piers have cornices and ashlar ball-finials set on concave pedestals. The outer piers are shorter and have plain caps, along with similar finials. The main gates are paired and have top-rails that ramp down, adorned with scrolled spearheads and a mid-rail. The narrower outer gates exhibit similar ironwork, with their top rail also ramped down towards the center. Extending from the outer piers is a length of rubble wall, which ramps down and is topped with edge-on cut Cilgerran stone coping.
